Being the work of the IPH∴ ALBERT PIKE entitled “ESOTERIKA: THE SYMBOLISM of the Blue Degrees of Freemasonry”, transcribed and commented by the IPH∴ ARTURO DE HOYOS, an obligatory reference in matters of Masonic symbolism, the Grand Lodge of Panama together with DE HOYOS undertook the task of translating and publishing it. We believe that making this literary jewel available to our Latin American brothers constitutes a relevant contribution of Panamanian Freemasonry.

The search for knowledge, for most Freemasons, is the driving force that motivates us to apply for admission to our Order. After we are initiated into the Apprentice degree, we begin a learning process, which hopefully never ends. Reading, discipline in study and our ability to memorize our rituals are essential elements that allow the Mason to receive a salary increase from him, being elevated to the degree of Companion and exalted to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason, culminating this initiation journey. Our rituals of the so-called Symbolic Degrees are rich in Masonic symbolism, containing allegories that have communicated to us the Masonic tradition for 300 years. Many of the Freemasonry symbols of our rituals are hidden from everyone in the Order. The symbolic degrees are a vault in which secrets and esoteric teachings are enclosed, whose origin and meaning were transmitted orally in antiquity, many of which today have been lost in the sands of time.
